About SideBySide Internet

The short version: We’re an independent ISP comparison site. We show you the prices providers don’t advertise — including what happens when the promo ends, the hidden equipment fees, and the data caps buried in fine print. We’re not owned by Clearlink, Red Ventures, or any ISP.

Why We Built This

Five of the top eleven ISP “review” sites in America are owned by one company — Clearlink (a subsidiary of Foundever). Two more are owned by Red Ventures. That means 7 of the 11 sites you’d probably visit when shopping for internet are controlled by marketing companies with direct financial relationships to the ISPs they review.

None of them tell you this. None of them prominently show what you’ll pay after the 12-month promotional period ends. None of them itemize every hidden fee. We do.

Our Approach: Exposed, Not Promoted

Every provider on our site shows both the intro price and the renewal price. We calculate the true 2-year cost including equipment fees, data overage charges, and mandatory surcharges. We reference FCC broadband data and ACSI satisfaction scores — not marketing materials.

When a provider has been sued by a state attorney general over hidden fees, we tell you. When a satellite company files a going-concern warning with the SEC, we tell you. When a “rural internet” reseller has been sued for fraud, we tell you.

How We Make Money

We earn affiliate commissions when you sign up for internet service through our links. This is standard across comparison sites — but here’s what makes us different: commissions never affect our rankings, ratings, or recommendations. We show renewal prices and hidden fees even for providers that pay us.

Who We Are

SideBySideInternet.com is a property of Scout Theory LLC, which operates a network of independent comparison sites across finance, technology, and services. Every site in the SideBySide network follows the same principle: show people what they’ll actually pay, not what the marketing department wants them to see.
